Award-winning (NAHB’s 2015 “CAPS Educator of the Year” and 2020 NAHB “Educator of the Year“) Aging In Place Master Instructor Steve Hoffacker, CAPS, CEAC, SHSS, is now in his fifteenth year of teaching the three required courses for the CAPS designation and the Universal Design class: CAPS I – “Marketing & Communicating With The Aging In Place Client” (formerly called “Marketing & Communication Strategies for Aging & Accessibility” prior to May 2017), CAPS II – “Design Concepts For Livable Homes & Aging In Place” (called “Design/Build Solutions For Aging & Accessibility” prior to May 2017), and CAPS III – “Details & Solutions For Livable Homes & Aging In Place” (introduced as a new class in October 2017, that replaces the requirement of “Business Management For Building Professionals” as the required third class). He also instructs classes and conducts webinars on sales and marketing (including lead generation techniques and strategies), universal design, and other aging in place and accessibility-related topics.
Hundreds of professionals from across the United States (all 50 states) and Canada (10 provinces), and even China, Singapore, New Zealand, Denmark, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Nigeria, Panama, Puerto Rico, Brazil, and Chile have taken Steve’s courses – representing general contractors, remodelers, home builders, handymen, land developers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, nurses, home health agencies, case managers, nursing home administrators, architects, durable medical equipment companies, mobility specialists, electricians, carpenters, flooring contractors, lighting specialists, plumbing supply companies, security systems, property managers, university faculty, centers for independent living, interior designers, kitchen and bath designers, financial planners, building materials suppliers, product manufacturers, retailers, appliance distributors, local governments, housing agencies, senior service agencies, home inspectors, real estate sales professionals, insurance agents, lenders, and several others.
